The focus of the district upgrade is the uncovering and renaturation of the previously blocked "Alserbach" stream and the planting of around 1,000 new climate-resilient urban trees. The center of Hernals can thus be transformed into a liveable meeting place with sustainable mobility, high biodiversity and flood protection.
